Dr. Pine was born and raised on a farm in Martinsville, IL. After graduating high school, he began working for his step-father, an Ophthalmologist, Dr. William Schubert, in Charleston, IL. He soon became very interested in ophthalmology and dedicated the next 13 years of school to achieving this goal. After graduating from the University of Kansas Department of Ophthalmology in 2012, Dr. Pine and his family returned to Charleston to begin practice. In conjunction with Dr. Schubert, Advanced Ophthalmology was born. Dr. Pine lives in Charleston with his wife, Jerri, and their two young boys, Jobe and Cade. Although Dr. Schubert has since retired, Dr. Pine strives to uphold the highest quality of personalized eye care that Dr. Schubert had given our communities for 44 years.
Dr. Pine provides complete ophthalmologic care for people of all ages and treats a wide variety of medical issues related to the eye, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Pine specializes in cataract surgery and advanced technology intraocular lenses. He has performed thousands of cataract surgeries and makes every effort to tailor each surgery to the individual patient’s needs and desires. To achieve this, only the most recent, state-of-the-art equipment is utilized. This includes the newest, most reliable and reproducible technology for ocular biometry (pre-cataract surgery measurements) and corneal topography. Other industry-leading technologies include ocular coherence tomography (OCT), OCT angiography, high definition ultra-wide field photography, Humphries visual field analysis, BSCAN ultrasonography and in-office YAG laser treatments

At Advanced Ophthalmology your personal experience starts with our caring and friendly staff. You will be greeted by our front office personal where the check-in process begins. Soon, one of our highly skilled, certified ophthalmic technicians will greet you will a smile and helping hand if need be. The technician will begin the necessary testing that Dr. Pine has anticipated you will need for a thorough diagnostic work up. Once all testing has been performed, Dr. Pine will be in soon to begin the examination. Should a surgery need scheduled, you will stop by our scheduling office before your visit is complete.
Here at Advanced Ophthalmology we take a team approach to our duties each day to ensure every patient gets the necessary treatment and attention to detail they deserve. So much in fact, many of the staff also assist Dr. Pine in his surgeries every week. Every member of our team is multitalented, highly skilled and extremely important in obtaining great outcomes.
